How we write about money

Lodavo publishes guides and explainers to help Americans save with a little more upside. This page is about how we write them: who is behind the words, and how we keep every figure accurate and sourced.

Who writes here

Benjamin Thomas

Founder & CEO

Benjamin Thomas is the Founder & CEO of Lodavo. He has years of experience in corporate finance, mostly at fintechs, and he has worked in venture capital at both small and large institutions. A personal finance nerd since he was young, he writes about saving money, banking, and personal finance.

Our editorial standards

Accuracy first

Every figure is checked against a primary source (the FDIC, the NCUA, the CFPB, the IRS, and state laws and regulators) and dated. We never publish a stat we can’t source, and we don’t invent numbers or ratings.

Honest about the product

We always describe Lodavo honestly. We’re just as clear about our role: we explain how saving works, but we’re not financial advisors, so the decisions are always yours.

Kept current

Rates and prices change, so we date every guide and revisit it when the facts move.

Fair to everyone we mention

When we compare Lodavo to other apps, we describe them accurately and name where they’re the better fit.
